Coronation Street confirms Sarah Barlow’s next love interest

Coronation Street‘s Sarah Barlow realises that she has a new admirer next week.

Fans can expect flirtatious scenes as Kit Green takes a shine to the Weatherfield favourite.

The scenes play out in the Rovers Return as Kit tries his best to chat up Sarah.

Kit seems ready to move on from his recent romantic connection with Daisy Midgeley.

Although Sarah may well be interested, she decides to play hard to get to avoid making life too easy for Kit.

Bad boy Damon Hay – Sarah’s most recent love interest – is currently serving a six-year prison sentence for his involvement in an armed robbery which was masterminded by his brother Harvey Gaskell.

After being caught out over the crime, Damon summoned Sarah to the prison visiting room and declared that they were “finished”.

Although Sarah was willing to wait for Damon’s release, he didn’t want her to put her life on hold for years.

Sarah’s original affair with Damon had led to the breakdown of her marriage to Adam Barlow.

Speaking last year about whether her character could ever reunite with Adam, Tina O’Brien – who plays Sarah – commented: “I think there is still something there and if Adam had said they could give it another chance after their last disastrous break-up, I think she would have made the marriage work.

“But the fact that Adam made it so clear it was over made her step away. I do think she still has feelings for him though, but maybe she’s lying to herself.

“I loved the ‘will they/won’t they?’ elements of the story with Adam. I think sometimes that’s almost more powerful – two people who should probably be together but the universe has got in their way and they’ve never been able to resolve that.

“I like that unspoken love, that they might go off in their different directions but there’ll always be that pull, kind of like she was for a long time with Gary too.”

Coronation Street airs Sarah and Kit’s scenes on Friday, April 11 on ITV1 and ITVX.
