Coronation Street’s Mick and Lou tipped for shocking son twist

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street‘s Mick and Lou Michaelis have been tipped for a shocking storyline which will involve a massive secret being revealed before they exit the soap this summer.

Played by Farrel Hegarty and Joe Layton, the couple are set to leave Weatherfield this summer, but not before a few more explosive storylines.

According to The Sun, the pair, who are described as “nightmare neighbours”, are hiding a secret son, who they will leave behind on the soap.

Reports suggest that Mick and Lou will eventually reveal that their son is another newcomer to the show who has already been introduced.

In upcoming storylines thug Brody, who is currently with Dylan in the Secure Training Centre, will reportedly be revealed as Mick and Lou’s son, though it is later revealed that Brody isn’t Mick’s son and is actually the son of Kit Green.

Starring as Brody on the soap is former Hollyoaks actor Ryan Mulvey, while his newly revealed dad Kit is played by Jacob Roberts.

Meanwhile, Hegarty and Layton, will exit the soap this summer after just six months on the cobbles. The actors, who only joined the soap back in February, are reportedly set to film their final scenes next month.

A Corrie spokesperson confirmed the joint exits, saying: “Mick and Lou were brought into the show to cause chaos on the cobbles in the build up to a major storyline in the summer and they are already making their presence felt.

“Joe and Farrel were contracted for a specific length of time, some characters come in for a long time and some like Mick and Lou are brought to pass through and leave a trail of destruction behind them.

“Both actors are still filming with the show and will be on screen until the summer.”

Speaking previously about playing Lou, Hegarty said: “She also has that strong family loyalty, especially between Mick and Lou. They are thick as thieves and will stick up for each other, even when they probably shouldn’t.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
